This ornithine derivative can be used as an effective substitute for the expensive cis-β-(4-pyrazinylcarbonyl-aminocyclohexyl)alanine in the sequence of the two LHRH antagonists Argtide and Lystide. The antiovulatory activity of these antagonists replaced with this ornithine derivative was comparable and the histamine release was reduced significantly.
